Clay is Community.
Pottery Northwest is a professional clay facility housed in the bottom level of Foster/White Gallery in Pioneer Square. The space includes separate classrooms for handbuilding and wheel throwing courses, as well as a third hybrid space for members to use while classes are in session. We also have a community kitchen and a non-commercial gallery.
Our spacious 8,000 sq ft. studio serves approximately 2,000 community members annually. Pottery Northwest students and members have access to a wide and growing array of professional equipment, including:
9 electric kilns ranging from 1 ft³ to 20 ft³
34 pottery wheels, including an adaptive wheel for wheelchair users
16 handbuilding tables
Bailey slab roller
Two wall-mounted clay extruders
Laguna Pro-V spray booth
12 house glazes
A wide variety of house slips and washes
The space is also equipped with heating and cooling, high-quality day-lighting systems, security cameras, and added air filtration.
Student Access Hours
The studio is open to currently enrolled students from 10am to 9pm every day except for federal holidays and during studio quarter breaks.
Public Access Hours
